With the LBR iiwa - one of KUKA's lightweight cobots specialising in sensitive assembly work - safety fences recede from the workspace and clear the way for human-robot collaboration.

The LBR iiwa is the first series-produced sensitive - and therefore HRC-capable - robot. LBR stands for "lightweight robot", iiwa for "intelligent industrial work assistant". With the LBR iiwa, humans and robots can work closely together to solve highly sensitive tasks, creating new areas of work that pave the way for greater cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Fast response

Thanks to joint torque sensors, the LBR iiwa recognises contacts immediately and reduces force and speed straight away. It handles sensitive components without shearing and clamping points thanks to position and compliance control.

Sensitive

As a lightweight with high-performance control, the LBR iiwa recognises contours quickly and force-controlled. It detects the correct installation position and mounts parts quickly and extremely precisely with an axis-specific torque accuracy of ±2% of the maximum torque. The LBR iiwa finds small, delicate parts in no time at all, even without your help.

Able to learn

Choose from three operating modes and programme the LBR iiwa using simulation: show it the desired position - it will remember the coordinates of the path point. For pauses, simply interrupt and control it by touching it.

Self-employed

The KUKA Sunrise Cabinet controller of the LBR iiwa simplifies the rapid commissioning of even complex tasks. Turn it into a human's third hand - and let it perform non-ergonomic, monotonous tasks reliably and independently.
