KMR iiwa
The KMR iiwa autonomous robot is HRC-capable and mobile. It combines the strengths of the sensitive lightweight robot LBR iiwa and a mobile, autonomous platform in a single system. The KMR iiwa is location-independent and highly flexible - the ideal prerequisite for the requirements of Industry 4.0.

KMR stands for KUKA Mobile Robotics. The KMR iiwa is a combination of the sensitive lightweight robot LBR iiwa and a mobile, flexible platform. As the name and the individual components suggest, the KMR iiwa is characterised by high mobility and flexibility.

Sensitive
Seven special joint torque sensors on each axis of the LBR iiwa lightweight robot make it highly sensitive to its surroundings. It navigates safely and without a safety fence - it stops immediately at any external contact.
Precise
Even in the tightest of spaces, the KMR iiwa achieves a positioning accuracy of up to +/- 5 millimetres.
Independent
The vehicle and robot are powered directly by Li-ion batteries.
Autonomous
The mobile platform can also navigate completely independently thanks to the laser scanners. It monitors its surroundings. If there is a person or object in the path of travel, it reacts immediately.
Mobile
Specially developed Mecanum wheels enable the mobile platform to perform omnidirectional movements and 360-degree rotations. A wheel consists of several rollers, each arranged at a 45-degree angle to the axle. This maximum manoeuvrability shortens throughput times and reduces idle times in the production process.

With the help of the KUKA.NavigationSolution, the KMR iiwa reliably avoids every obstacle and looks for a new path.
